Bokeh (pronounced /bo’ka/) is the visual quality of the out-of-focus areas of a photographic image, especially as rendered by a particular lens.
Most photo buffs including me primarily get high quality Bokeh with good quality glass. One quality of bokeh is the fact that out of focus highlights usually are in the shape of the aperture of a lens. Mirror lens typically show this in the form of a donut bokeh. In this image, I cut an opening in a piece of cardboard in the form of a christmas tree which is pasted in front of the lens. Now out of focus highlights are rendered in the shapes of the christmas tree.
